Traditions record iron, silver, and salt as disruptive lines, while ash, charcoal, and chalk mark circles that close paths. Mirrors and polished metal reflect or divide a gaze, and woven nets, cords, or red thread bind joints and seal names. Arrow, awl, or nail placed at seam, nape, or shadow can pin movement; fire cauterises wounds that would otherwise knit. Grain scatter, hair-cut, or severing of a token garment can break a disguise or release a captive shape.
