In Jain mythology, Deva represents a class of celestial beings that emerge spontaneously in the heavens. They are born instantaneously in specially prepared beds, bypassing the traditional process of reproduction. These heavenly beings are not derived from any parental lineage, a feature that sets them apart from mortal entities. Deva are endowed with innate clairvoyance (avadhi jnana), which grants them extraordinary perceptual abilities.
