Three printed worksheets laid side by side on a table, each with a small mythological creature standing on it.

Curriculum links

Every resource on this site, and what it supports in England, Australia and the United States.

This is the page the printed teacher notes point at, so the notes themselves never carry a code that could go out of date. If a framework changes, this page changes and every resource stays correct.

Curriculum links checked October 2026 against National Curriculum (England, 2014), Common Core State Standards and Australian Curriculum v9.0.

In plain language

EnglandNational Curriculum (England, 2014)
KS2 English on myths and legends, and KS2 History on how we know about the past from sources. KS2 History names Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, the Vikings and the Shang Dynasty, so four of the five poster sets sit in a unit teachers already have to teach. Nothing is claimed above Year 6.
United StatesCommon Core State Standards
Grade 4 English language arts, and the C3 source-comparison skill on the comparison task. Only Grade 4 has a standard about comparing myths across cultures, so this column is deliberately narrow.
AustraliaAustralian Curriculum v9.0
English and literacy across Years 3 to 8, and History at Years 7 and 8 for the posters. Australia has no ancient-world content at primary; it arrives at Year 7, with the medieval and Asia-Pacific depth studies at Year 8.

A note on the year levels

What a curriculum names and what works in a classroom are not the same thing. The codes above are the places where each resource has a named, checkable home, and we have claimed only those, because a code a teacher cannot verify is worse than no code at all.

They are not an age limit. Much of this material carries across other age groups: a display poster suits any class studying that culture, the discussion questions work with anyone who can read them, and the dated sources on each poster give older pupils something to argue with. The worksheets are the one place we would hold the line, because their line spacing and reading level are built for primary.

Use the codes when you need to justify a resource in a planning document. Use your own judgement for everything else.
